Landscape architects trooped to the Philippine Army Officer's
Club in Fort Bonifacio for the third national convention
themed “Fusion of the Old & New: Exploring the
Natural, Cultural & Designed Landscapes” last February.
Everyone enjoyed the fellowship dinner that followed the
packed sessions.
HONG KONG INVASION
Students from the Masters in Tropical Landscape Architecture
program of the UP College of Architecture headed to Hong
Kong to see and learn from noteworthy landscapes chosen by
professor Zenaida Galingan
RITES OF PASSAGE
The new set of PALA officers were inducted last April at
the Chocolate Kiss Café, UP Diliman. This year’s
officers are Frederick Peter Altavas (president), Mona
Lisa San Gabriel (vice president), Cheryl May Bonifacio
(secretary), Holtzjosip Abbu (treasurer), Jerome Abad (director),
Martin Toledo (director), Mary Claire Villanueva (director),
and Mary Ann Arañas-Espina (ex-officio director).
MEET MATIMCO
PALA President Dicky Altavas with Arch. Roger Villarosa and
Mr. Peter Birke went on a familiarization tour of the
MATIMCO
production facilities last April in Cebu.
SCENE STEALING
PALA conducts “Scene Stealer,” a two-part landscape
photography seminar last June 28 and July 12 with its former
president and current Bluprint editor in chief Paulo Alcazaren.
This CPD was supported by Bluprint magazine, Canon and Ortigas
Home Depot.
A TOAST TO THE ARTIST
Colleagues and friends held a testimonial merienda at Café Benissimo
in honor of Ildefonso P. Santos, National Artist in Architecture
and the Allied Arts.
A recognition assembly at the UP College
of Architecture was held last June 21 in honor of Ildefonso
P. Santos, National Artist in Architecture and the Allied
Arts.
IP Santos brings landscape architecture
to the limelight as he receives the National Artist award
last June at the CCP.
